FRAMINGHAM, Mass. — WWE superstar John Cena is living up to his reputation as a fan hero and favorite by visitng Devin Suau in the hospital.
Six-year-old Devin was diagnosed with diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG) earlier this year and has spent the past nine months in and out of hospitals across the globe undergoing treatment.
The Framingham boy's story captured hearts across the world and #WhyNotDevin has been a viral sensation, getting recognition from Boston Mayor Marty Walsh and Gov. Charlie Baker, to Kim Kardashian-West, Mark Wahlberg, Will Ferrell and Mel Gibson.
Last week, the Devin's Dash 5k Fundraiser was held in Framingham, and Devin's mom Christine told Boston 25 News he called for John Cena several times during the ceremony.
"At Devin's Dash last Sunday when I was speaking and thanking everybody Devin grabbed the microphone and yelled John Cena two times," Christine said.
Christine posted several pictures of Cena in the hospital on Facebook with the caption:
